Lady Maria of Dogole (1759 – 1824)
Many rumors have circulated as to the beginnings of Lady Maria. The most popular being that she was a dancer in a wharf tavern, who would stand on tables and lift her dress for the price of a dozen sunflower seeds. It was in this tavern supposedly, that she met a Kessan navel officer, and was eventually taken in by a Kessan admiral’s wife as a young protégé. It is presumed through her that Lady Maria was introduced and then married to Lord Frederick, the Earl of Vienwray’s son. They would have 13 children. Her youngest was to become Lady Kitty Hart — the celebrated Manhattan hostess.
